Apple is preparing to launch iOS 18.3.1, its next operating system update, in the coming weeks, after updates in January and February. Chances are that this will be a minor update, focusing on bug fixes rather than new features, unlike iOS 18.3 and the upcoming iOS 18.4. Currently, Apple is testing iOS 18.3.1 internally.
In fact, some speculation goes so far as to claim iOS 18.3.1 will revert to some features disabled in iOS 18.3, like news and entertainment notification summaries, though it’s not clear whether that’s a dead certainty, because Apple might just need more time to refine the performance of the feature before it’s enabled again.
While iOS 18.4, due in April, will be a bigger update, iOS 18.3.1 should precede it. There won’t be a beta for iOS 18.3.1, but it’s expected to drop in February, pending final testing. The update is likely to drop any moment now, with the next big release, iOS 18.4, coming later.
